One Step Forward, Two Steps (Maybe More) Back

Home renovations always seem to be (at least for me) like taking one step forward and then about 1/2 step back. That seemed to be the case yesterday. I got the new flooring in the kids' bathroom installed. It looked great but the new paint on the wall took a beating. I was able to salvage one wall with a Magic Eraser (aren't they great!) but one wall was definitely going to need a touch up as there was a couple of scratches of paint taken off of the wall. I had planned to do that this morning as my sister is coming over later to check out the changes.

However, instead both the toilet and the washer are leaking. I have chunks of the ceiling in the garage falling onto the floor. I have a small spot forming on the ceiling of my kitchen. That really pisses me off since that paint is only a year old! Guess it could be worse. It could be the one week old ceiling paint. The guys are back trashing my bathroom trying to find the source of the leaks and get them fixed. So I will get to re-wash the rugs in there, re-mop the floor, re-clean the sinks and then get everything back to where it was just a few hours ago. Not to mention having to deal with getting the ceiling fixed at some point later. They did say they will be having a painter out but first they will have to cut out a section of the ceiling in the garage to let it dry.

So my quiet morning of getting the laundry done (all 8 loads of it!!) is gone. Hopefully my water woes will be fixed soon.

I feel your pain...our foundation developed a crack that is essentially flooding our finished basement. First we lost our carpet...next will be a whole wall of drywall. Isn't water damage fantastic? Good luck cleaning up your place. I'll think of you as I repaint our new drywall at some point! Amy F

Sorry about the house issues. I hope you'll share pics of the boys bathroom though. It sounds so cute!
